The CMU Monarch extensions to ns [4] provide new elements at the physical, link, and routing layers

of the simulation environment. Using these elements, it is possible to construct detailed and accurate

simulations of wireless subnets, LANs, or multi-hop ad hoc networks. This document describes each of the

pieces we have added to ns , and gives some examples of how they can be used.
