- 2006telb0024-Et-Tolba-(1) The major evolution of UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) in recent years is the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA)which provides data rates up to 10Mbps. The implementation of HSDPA includes multicodes transmission in joint application with Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) as well as Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ). This thesis deals with the implementation of the HSDPA simulator in FDD (Frequency Division Duplex) mode according to 3GPP technical specifications.
