The program prg_chk is capable of determining UART s installed

on a MS-DOS based computer. The program can be used with, or

without parameters.



If no parameters are used, the four default addresses for COM1,

COM2, COM3 and COM4 are searched. Otherwise, parameters at the

commandline are interpreted as the hexadecimal baseaddress of

the UART to find. It is possible to search for more UART s at
